UIC Passenger Services Group Plenary Meeting took place at the Palazzo delle Carte Geografiche (Palace of Maps) Convention Centre on 6 November 2018 in Rome

The meeting was hosted and organised by Trenitalia and chaired by Mrs Roberta Rizzo, Head of International Affairs in Trenitalia, which holds the Presidency and coordinates the activities of the Passenger Service Group.

The meeting was attended by 40 representatives of the main European railway companies (SNCF, DB, SNCB, SBB, OBB, NS) at the level of Business Development/Long Haul Managers and Strategies, as well as representatives of the international UIC, CER and CIT associations.

The PSG Plenary is the most important forum for the establishment of strategic and budget decisions relating to the commercial and distribution processes in the context of passenger transport.

The meeting in Rome represented an important opportunity for exchange and discussion on issues related to the distribution of international railway products, the development of a global database of timetables / tariffs for the sales of railway services and the market changes in relations with the new entrants, such as distributors.

During the meeting, Mrs Sophie Immenroth, Head of Key Accounts for International Long-Distance Transport in DB Fernverkehr, was appointed new PSG Vice-Chair by the members.

The following subjects were discussed and actions were decided:
Commercialisation of integrated MERITS data, PSG financial issues, governance of UIC working bodies, report on the UIC General Assembly held in Madrid on 4 July, proposal to reorganise the PSG Technical and Commercial activities, IRS Standardisation issues, technical agreement with ERA, updates from Commercial and Technical groups, updates from PATRIC (UIC audit group), updates from PASSAGE, news from other associations: CIT, CER, updates on UIC membership.
