Mr Ali İhsan Uygun, who was born in Ordu in 1966, graduated from Istanbul Technical University Electrical-Electronic Engineering Department in 1987.
In 1988, he completed his Master’s Degree at Istanbul University, Faculty of Business Administration, Economics Institute, Department of Management and Administration.
He served within the Transportation Industry and Trade Inc., part of İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), as:
Telecommand and Catenary Chief between 1995 and 1997,
Assistant Manager of Stationary Facilities between 1997 and 1999,
Electrical-Electronics Facilities Manager between 1999-2005,
Operations Manager between 2005 and 2015.
Mr Ali İhsan Uygun, who took over the role as Deputy Director General and Member of the Board in TCDD in June 2015, has been assigned the position of Director General of TCDD as of 19 February 19 2019.
He is married with two children and speaks English.
