Lineas continues to expand its activities in Germany by recruiting new train drivers. The company aims to reinforce its physical presence in this important market with minimum ten new colleagues by the end of this year.
Since 1 February 2019, two Lineas colleagues have been driving trains all over Germany. In April, two more train drivers will join Lineas Germany. It doesn’t stop there: Lineas aims to strengthen its workforce in Germany with minimum ten train drivers by the end of this year. They will run trains mainly for the north lines and south lines of Germany.
Jan Elfenhorst, Director of European Sales & Business Development and General Manager of Lineas Germany: “Our German activities are growing steadily and so does the German workforce - so we can maintain close contact with our customers and further expand our Green Xpress Network in Europe. We are pleased to welcome our new colleagues and are still looking for more train drivers. By the end of the year, we want to have minimum ten German drivers to join forces with our commercial and operational team in Mainz to ensure the utmost quality and efficiency of our services.”
The recruitment of German train drivers shows the anchoring of Lineas in the important German market and its continuous expansion throughout Europe. In September last year, Lineas opened its Operations Centre in Mainz. As a direct local point of contact, the Centre monitors about 200 Lineas trains that travel in and through Germany every week and coordinates between the customer, infrastructure managers, drivers, stations and other parties. The new train drivers increase the current freight force in Germany to 18 people.
