Mr HUO Baoshi from China Railways (CR) was appointed Chairman of the Intercity and High-Speed Committee during a meeting of the committee held in mid-September.
Mr HUO, born in 1968, graduated with an MBA from Northern Jiaotong University and a PhD in Management Science and Engineering from Beijing Jiaotong University.
Mr HUO started his career at Northern Jiaotong University before joining the Ministry of Railways where he was Director of the MoR’s Science and Technology Department. He then joined China Railways (CR) where he was Director of the Science, Technology and IT Application Department from 2013 until present.
Mr HUO has been involved in the work of the International Standards Organisation Technical Committee for a number of years.
With regard to UIC, he has been a member of the Standardisation Platform core group since 2013, a member of the Rail System Forum Steering Board since 2012, a member of the Scientific Committee of the UIC World High-Speed Congress and Vice-Chairman of the Intercity and High-Speed Committee since 2016.
