On 15 March, the K6564/1 migrant-worker dedicated train carrying more than 200 migrant workers departed Huaihua Station on time and arrived at Shenzhen East Station at 7:58 on 16 March. This is the 300th migrant-worker dedicated train operated in the railway sector.

An official of China Railway’s passenger transport department said that to implement the decisions and deployment of the Party’s Central Committee and the State Council on strengthening the scientific epidemic prevention and control and promoting the orderly resumption of work and production in enterprises, the railway sector has actively joined forces with local governments and enterprises to operate the dedicated migrant-worker trains, providing reliable “point-to-point” transport services. Since the operation of the national railway’s first dedicated migrant-worker train on 16 February, the railway sector has operated 300 dedicated migrant-worker trains (with 1,250 dedicated carriages), carrying more than 332,000 passengers by 15 March. In the near future, it is planned to arrange another 13 dedicated trains (with 35 dedicated carriages) for migrant workers.

The railway sector has taken effective measures to scientifically and orderly arrange the return-trip for migrant workers. It has learned the production resumption arrangements of the enterprises and the travel needs of the migrant workers all over the country so as to “operate trains according to demand”, and has provided the “point-to-point” transport where the boarding-alighting for other passengers will not be provided during the trip. It has provided the migrant workers with green channels in security check, check-in/out, ticket checking, waiting, etc. to keep them at a certain distance and avoid them from gathering.

The railways have carefully disinfected, ventilated and cleaned the trains in advance, arranged the migrant workers for temperature taking in check in/out and random temperature taking during the trip, guided them to sit separately in the carriage, and provided them with meal ordering services via QR codes instead of arranging centralised dining in dining cars. It has used station and train broadcasts and videos to spread epidemic prevention and control knowledge, and set up isolation seats for fever passenger on board.
