The opening ceremony was held with the presence of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko at the station of Svietlahorsk-na-Biarezinie on 21 June 2020.
During the ceremony the Head of Belarusian Railway Vladimir Morozov informed the Head of state Aleksandr Lukashenko about “The development of Belarusian Railway and prospects of its electrification”.
The opening of the new electrified section Svietlagorsk-Žlobin-Minsk aims to strengthen transport communication, activate the development of Homiel and Minsk regions, enhance the quality of service.
Transportation will be carried out by modern electric train series ЭПР, which have already gained popularity among residents and guests of our country. Trains of this series have been put into service on Belarusian Railway since 2011.
The electric regional business class lines train consists of five carriages. The train provides 302 seats. The benefits of the train are lowered floor for easy entry and exit of passengers, bright and spacious lounges equipped with air-conditioning.
The carriage has 3+2 seating rows. There are comfortable seats with a back that is adjustable and individual armrests. In one of the cars allocated to each of a large multi-purpose area for passengers in wheelchairs, with prams, bicycles and bulky luggage. The train is equipped equipped with a video surveillance system with the transfer of images to display in the cab, sockets 220 under seats for notebooks and recharging and Wi-Fi-system to access the internet. There is a toilet vacuum type.
Train №754 Svietlahorsk-na-Biarezinie–Minsk will depart from Svietlahorsk for the first time at 19:04 and will arrive in the capital of Belarus at 21:44. Train № 754 Minsk–Svietlahorsk-na-Biarezinie will depart from Minsk at 15:50 on June 26 and arrive in Svietlahorsk at 18:47. Further, these trains will run on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Train №756 is provided for the organisation of daily passengers transportation on the Svetlogorsk-Žlobin-Minsk route. From Minsk, the train №756 Minsk–Svietlahorsk-na-Biarezinie will depart for the first time at 20:48 on 21 June and will arrive in Svietlahorsk at 23:47. In the opposite direction, the train will depart from Svietlahorsk at 05:01 on June 22 and arrive in Minsk at 07:53.
The train will stop at Žlobin, Babrujsk, Asipovičy-1, Puchavičy stations.
The cost of travelling on electric trains of regional business-class lines on this route is 9,04 BYN. Travel documents (tickets) can be issued on the official website of the Belarusian Railway in the “Passenger services” section (pass.rw.by), in the mobile application "BC. My train”, as well as at the railway ticket offices. For the purpose to strengthen transport communication in Homiel region Belarusian Railway is putting on service 2 additional pairs of regional economy class lines trains on Homiel- Svietlahorsk-Homiel route on 21 June.
Regular train №6459/6460 Homiel–Svietlahorsk-na-Biarezinie–Homiel will depart from Homiel at 14.35 and will arrive in Svietlahorsk at 17.12. In the opposite direction, the train will depart at 17.24 and will arrive in Homiel at 20.29.
From 21 June, train № 6457/6458 Homiel–Svietlahorsk-na-Biarezinie–Homiel will run on Saturdays and Sundays. The train will depart from Homiel at 11.54 and will arrive in Svietlahorsk at 14.43. In the opposite direction, the train will depart at 14.55 and will arrive at 18.04.
