Reduction cost of catenary
Reduction cost of catenary
Complete electrification or partial electrification:
1a. If you want to electrify lines with gauge constraints, how do you do to manage them concerning tunnels
1b. If you want to electrify lines with gauge constraints, how do you do to manage them concerning bridges
2. Do you rebuild to get the right electrification gauge and the right clearance or do you have other solutions?
3a. Do you accept to diverge from standardized requirements on reduced insulation?
Yes
No
3b. If yes, which are your ideas?
4a. Do you accept other overhead contact line (OCL) gap where the gauge is not sufficient enough, where the clearance is not right ?
Yes
No
4b. If yes, do you accept the train not being on traction mode but coasting?
5a. How do you define the needs of the OCL?
5b. Do you oversize in terms of operating speed or current?
5c. Do you adapt the model of the OCL strictly to the speed of a train?
6. What kind of technical solutions do you have to reduce the construction cost of OCL (CAPEX)?
Foundation
Structures
Others
Others
7a. How do you implement work on circulated lines ?
7b. How long do you interrupt the operation of trains?
7c. What would be the perfect track operating stop to perform the work?
Closing of the lines?
Work during night?
Short interruption?
8a. When renewing, do you rebuild completely?
Yes
No
Please leave this field empty:
8b. Do you reuse or recycle as much of possible equipment in a good state? If yes, which equipment?
8c. If renewing, how do you do it and which results did you get? How much did you save?
9. If the contact wire is not too weared, do you reuse the contact wire on other lines (ie lower traffic)?
Clamps?
Bars?
Cantilever?
Other OCL equipment?
Other OCL equipment?
Power supply:
10a. Do you have also good practices towards substations on traction power supply?
10b. - What do you think about switching off transformers when not needed?
11. What are your ideas to reduce the CAPEX?
12. Do you recycle?
13. Do you monitor transformer? If yes, how (IoT’s….)?
14. Would you accept to change your voltage system into a more energetic efficient one from 1,5 kV to 3 KV, from DC to AC or from 3 kV to possible future 6kV, 9 kV DC?
15a. Which idea would you recommend to reduce cost of electrification? please indicate us if you want to share the answers or not
15b. Could you give your ideas a number corresponding to the chart below (efficient to very efficient and difficult to do to very easy to do)? (copie)
16a. In the beginning of this survey, nine good practices were briefly presented, what do you think of them?
16b. Could you rate your recommendations using the matrix given below?
