The workshop opens with a Session where invited experts from Italy, both academics and operators of Ferrovie dello Stato, from UIC, from the Asian Development Bank Institute and from the California High-Speed Rail in the United States will provide their experience in this sector. A keynote will be given by Mr Marc Guigon, UIC Passenger Director, entitled “High-Speed Rail in the context of the new normal”.

The programme is divided into five sessions. In Session 1, a review of HSR socioeconomic impacts is provided. Session 2 deals with HSR appraisal methods and pricing policies. Session 3 deals with HSR impacts on productivity and tourism. Session 4 concerns HSR and Technologies and finally Session 5 presents the effects of HSR on Land use and on equity issues.
