2021 is the European Year of Rail, an initiative by the European Commission as part of the EU’s efforts to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 under the European Green Deal.

As part of activities to put rail in the spotlight across the continent throughout 2021, IP SA, Infraestruturas de Portugal wants to introduce its video about the Investment Programme Ferrovia 2020 .

In Portugal, the railways have brought about some of the most remarkable progress we have ever witnessed. As they evolved, they developed cities and regions, bringing them closer together and reducing travel times. Conscious of the importance of railway infrastructure for the cohesion of the country, Portugal is implementing a major investment programme called Ferrovia 2020 so as to continue to develop and bring Europe closer together.
