The UIC Passenger Department is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 8th edition of the UIC training course on Commuter and Regional Train Services (CRTS), which will be held in person at UIC Headquarters in Paris from 29 to 31 October 2025.
Following the success of previous editions, including the 7th edition held in Copenhagen in 2023, this training continues to provide an international platform for sharing knowledge, best practices and innovative ideas to support the development of commuter and regional rail services.
This year’s edition will explore the theme: “Leisure and commuter travellers: different needs, same train.”
Through lectures, case studies and interactive workshops, the training course will focus on the increasing complexity of providing services that meet the needs of diverse user groups – particularly the challenges of planning and delivering efficient operations that serve both commuters and leisure travellers simultaneously, often using the same rolling stock and infrastructure.
More than 20 international experts from across the rail industry, academia and various public authorities will share their insights and experiences on topics including service design, operations, customer experience, multimodality and sustainable mobility – offering a comprehensive overview of current trends and challenges in commuter and regional rail.
