The UIC International Sustainable Railway Awards ceremony is being postponed to the evening of 1 June 2022, the organisers IRITS Events have announced.

In light of the Covid-19 pandemic and related restrictions, the decision has been made to postpone the awards from the original date of 17 February 2022 to ensure that the event is as safe and as worthwhile as possible.

The awards will be hosted in Berlin as originally announced.

The UIC International Sustainable Railway Awards, hosted by the UIC, is a unique event celebrating innovation in sustainable railways. Across 12 categories, the awards will promote and share the most transformative projects and initiatives delivering social, environmental and economic sustainability.

The gala ceremony of the UIC International Sustainable Railway Awards will be held in parallel with the 11th International Railway Summit (IRS11), which has also been postponed to 30 May-1 June 2022.
