The UIC Passenger Department has released a new version of its Passenger brochure as well as a factsheet on OSDM (Open Sales Distribution Model).
The brochure covers the latest progress and developments in a number of key areas regarding UIC Passenger activities, notably OSDM, multimodality, research and innovation, accessibility, the customer experience both onboard and in stations, sustainable rail tourism, new IRSs in passenger services and high-speed rail. Moreover, details about the two main upcoming passenger events are also mentioned: the 7th UIC nextstation conference and the 11th UIC World Congress on High-Speed Rail planned for 2022.

The OSDM factsheet explains the implementation of the new Open Sales and Distribution Model specification. Based on the latter the OSDM platform replaces the former PRIFIS international tariff distribution tool, a shared database containing prices and tariffs for non-reservation tickets. In addition the factsheet gives an overview of the aims, the benefits and the background of this initiative and how it is planned to be used for real time rail ticket distribution. A short video is currently being prepared on the subject and will be ready as of the autumn.
