The Innovation Workshops, organised by the UIC Passenger Services Group, cover technology trends and their impact on the rail industry. Each workshop combines pitches from industry experts, interactive sessions and co-creation activities enabled by digital collaboration tools.
The last workshop “New Open Specifications and Platforms Enabling Rail Digital Transformation” was held at UIC HQ in Paris on 16 June.
The next workshop, “Rail as the Backbone of Door-to-door Mobility”, will focus on how rail operators can play a key role in enabling door-to-door journeys, through collaboration within the rail industry and with other providers, including airlines and public transport operators. It will take place on 18 October in the EY Wavespace, in Rome, an exclusive working space where interaction and inspiration are enhanced thanks to technological and innovative tools and dedicated rooms. The final Innovation Workshop for 2022, “Unlocking the Power of Data and Artificial Intelligence in Passenger Rail”, will take place on 25 November at UIC HQ in Paris. It will cover recent advances in big data, analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and give examples from cases relevant to the rail industry, including personalisation, recommendations, conversational systems, predictive analytics, and operational excellence.
The events will be held in a hybrid format, allowing participants to attend either in-person or online.
