The UIC General Assembly, held on 7 December 2018 at UIC HQ in Paris, endorsed the decision taken during the UIC Safety Platform plenary session on 15 November 2018 at UIC.
We are happy and proud to announce that Mr Rolf Härdi has been appointed Chairman of the UIC Safety Platform for a two-year-mandate (renewable once) and will chair our meetings from 2019.
First on the calendar: Safety Platform Steering Group on 27 March 2019 at UIC HQ.

Rolf Härdi, Chief Technology Innovation Officer, Deutsche Bahn AG
Rolf Härdi, an electrical engineer with an MBA was born in Switzerland. He started his career as an R&D engineer at ABB. He gained field experience as a commissioning engineer in the London Underground Central Line 92 Tube Stock project.
Staying in the UK he then held several management positions within RailServices at Adtranz which in the year 2000 merged with Bombardier. In 2003 Rolf became a member of the global BT Propulsion and Controls management team, where he was responsible for the Worldwide Engineering Organisation.
In 2008 he was appointed CEO of the Sersa Group, a rail infrastructure company in Switzerland. In 2012 he changed to Knorr-Bremse SfS GmbH as a managing director and member of the executive board. In August 2017 he was appointed Chief Technology Innovation Officer at Deutsche Bahn AG. Throughout his career, Rolf Härdi gained vast experience in safety as part of his responsibilities in his management roles and as part of his technical responsibilities.
