Conference on « Low carbon mobility: making modal shift desirable » to be held on 13 February 2020 in Brussels

UIC actively promotes at international level a multimodal vision shared with public transport and supply chain stakeholders.

Based on its members’ expertise, UIC is developing the technical enablers to transform this concept into reality. In order to share the initiatives already taken and to find the ways to make modal shift desirable, UIC is pleased to invite you to a one-day conference on 13 February 2020 in Brussels. It will also be an occasion rediscover an unexpected advantage inherent to railway, the virtue of frugality.

Among thr speakers delivering a keynote speech, Mr Umberto Guida, Senior Director for Knowledge & Innovation, UITP and Mr Bernard Soulage, Expert in urban planning have already confirmed their participation.

Among the speakers who will participate in the first round table, Mr Thomas Mohring and Ms Eva Dijkema, Policy Advisor Environment & Sustainability, ProRail and Mr Paul Hegge, Director Public Affairs & CSR, Lineas, will discuss the theme “Moving towards low carbon mobility: the initiatives already taken.”

The second round table will give the possibility to learn more about “How to make modal shift desirable: Rediscovering the virtue of frugality.”

The event will be held Square conference centre in Brussels, and will end with a networking drinks reception. Speakers from international organisations, as well as from Japan, Morocco and Russia also intend to participate.
