Gender-Sensitive Transport Hub - Leipzig Rail Station

[Limited spaces] On Tuesday 21st May, the day before the opening of the ITF Summit, participants are invited to join a technical visit to assess the gender sensitivity of the Leipzig train station station’s design and operations, along with its surrounding areas, in a partnership between Deutsche Bahn, the International Union of Railways, the International Transport Forum - OECD and Women Mobilize Women initiative. Throughout the guided visit of the station, participants are invited to reflect and provide insights into how intermodal hubs can be planned and managed to cater to the diverse needs of all users, with a particular focus on gender considerations. As part of the visit, participants will be divided into small breakout groups, inspired in the “Gemba Walk” method, to observe potential improvements. After the walkthrough, all groups will gather to share views and summarize the experience. The collected inputs will be organized in a short summary and used by the management of the station to guide actions to enhance the experience of women that visit the station.
