International Green Transport Week

31 May – 5 June 2021

This International Green Transport week will be held to coincide with the UN World Environment day in June and the EU Green Week.

It will showcase the sustainability credentials of rail as well as the ambitious plans rail companies have to lead in a green recovery and tackling the climate crisis.

The UIC dedicates a full week to focus on the role of rail and public transport in the transformation to a sustainable mobility system for both passenger and freight. Through daily themed messages, we will showcase the sustainability credentials of rail as well as the ambitious plans of members to lead in a green and just recovery and tackle the global environmental challenges.

Information

On Monday – we will launch the week with our vision of passenger rail, public transport and rail freight logistics in 2030, when we will be on the right track for a decarbonised and sustainable transport sector. We will highlight the key actions needed to reach this vision in this decade of action with a joint message with UITP.
