UIC is pleased to invite you to the dissemination day of the Resilient Railways projects on heavy rains (RERA Rain) and extreme temperatures and desert conditions (RERA Temp). Climate change is becoming more and more of a reality and infrastructure managers and train operators need tools to cope with situations that a few years ago only happened in movies... If you want to keep up to date with what is being worked on in the railway community, we recommend you attend the conference, which will especially highlight the different topics:
- Forecast and climate projections.
- Adaptation strategies to extreme conditions: heavy rains, floodings, landslides, heat waves, sand contamination, droughts, and a very long etcetera.
- Climatic barriers and mitigation measures.
- Vulnerability to climate change assessment.
The conference will be held on 27 March at the UIC headquarters in Paris, with no option for online participation. As seats are limited, we recommend you to register as soon as possible.

The speakers will be renowned experts from the UIC members who have contributed to the projects, among them the European SNCF, NETWORK RAIL, RFI, SBB CFF FFS, but also from outside Europe, such as Saudi Arabia Railways.
